David Eaves and open data

David Eaves and open data

In a presentation to CREA earlier this week, David Eaves, an adviser on open data, talked about the importance of opening up MLS® data to everyone who wants it – including FSBOs and other businesses.

Eaves explained that our world in real estate is about to get more open, and as an industry we need to see ourselves as enablers, not as gatekeepers of MLS® data.

Eaves also explained that REALTORS® are experts on MLS® data. Our value is in our skills and knowledge in interpreting and understanding MLS® data.

I agree.

Here is a video of what David Eaves had to say to CREA. Scroll down to “You asked for it, you got it!”
