An Olympic Lift for Metro Vancouver real estate

February is usually a chillier month in Vancouver, for both the weather and home sales.

But this February the sun shone brightly and temperatures soared – as did home sales.

A total of 2,472 homes changed hands, an increase of 67.1% compared to a year ago when 1,480 homes changed hands. This is also a 28.6% increase over than the 1,923 home sales in January 2010.

Was the cause the 2010 Winter Olympics?

While only time will tell, welcoming the world to our home put us centre stage internationally and showcased our spectacularly beautiful region and province, and our high quality of life. It also showed the world we know how to have fun!

Real estate here has always been a great investment in the long term. And now property buyers and investors from around the globe have seen why.
